This spacious Western-style private lodge offers all the comforts of home for your ‘place to stay’ in Japan. Guests dig our open fire place, outdoor hot tub, bar and dining room; while staying in our friendly, relaxed and beautiful forest setting. All guest rooms have large private en-suites and king size beds.

We love living in Hakuba and travelling Japan! We get that it’s an amazing place to visit, even without the mountains! The diverse culture, incredible architecture, quirkiness, breathtaking scenery and of course the Japanese cuisine offers more than you can do in one visit.

Hakuba offers endless terrain of jagged peaks, epic amounts of snow, plenty of sunny days, long seasons and few people! We hope we can share our local knowledge, good times, and your best mountain story ever.

Our Location in Hakuba

Only 300 Meters from Goryu/Hakuba 47 Ski Resort, take the forest trail at the end of the day to ski–in to our front door.
We are situated in beautiful Goryu Village. A short stroll to restaurants and bars in the Village.
Shuttle services are available for easy access to all the 7 Ski resorts in the Hakuba Valley.
Hakuba is nestled in the heart of the Northern Japanese Alps, we are only 2.5hrs from Tokyo Station by bullet train (shinkansen).

Goryu/Iimori and Hakuba 47 Resort

Only 300meters from the Bears Den Mountain Lodge is the Goryu/Hakuba 47 Resort; offering some of the highest vertical in Hakuba, near to 1000m and has some of the best variety of skiing and boarding in the valley.

It is fantastic for all levels and great for children as well.

Goryu is directly linked with the neighbouring Hakuba 47 and connecting with Iimori base area.

With awesome views of the picturesque Alps you will enjoy long runs, winding runs through the forest or terrain parks.

Goryu has something for everyone, epic amounts of snow, plenty of sunny days, long seasons and very few people!
